About Kim

(aka Kimby)

I’m a multimedia artist based in Denver, Colorado, originally from Long Island, New York. I spent the first 3 years of my time in Denver working for a company that provided art restoration services, and it was in that role that I was introduced to the world of custom framing. For another 3 years, I worked at a high-end custom frame shop working on all kinds of elaborate framing projects (in both design and execution).

While it’s hard to put myself in any kind of artistic box these days, I’ve been primarily working with watercolor and gouache, teaching myself how to sew, and honing my woodworking skills during my last few years as a framer. That said, oil paint remains my favorite medium—it’s where I feel the most at home creatively. My specialty across all mediums is color matching; I pride myself in being able to look at a color and know exactly how to mix it.

When I’m not working on a creative project, I enjoy live music, cooking, and spending time with my cats, Jolene and Henry.
